Another Visit

A week after saying goodbye to Jason's brother's family, we had a visit from Grandma and Grandpa. We were so excited to show them our home and the area. We ate Jason's yummy battered halibut that he caught himself and had a campfire in the backyard. We had a bit of excitement when the Pyrex dish that contained our breakfast exploded on the stove. Grandma quickly got us a new one at the DI. We also took a very interesting tour of the Pendleton Woolen Mill in Washougal. We got to see what happens to the wool as it is dyed, made into thread, then woven into fabric. Unfortunately we couldn't take any pictures.
The next day we took a drive to the Oregon coast.
Everyone needs the experience of feeding the animals at Blue Heron French Cheese Co. Grandma didn't appreciate the goat slobber. Then we stopped to get an ice cream cone at the Tillamook cheese factory (of course!).
Then a quick stop at Rockaway Beach. If you're looking for cool weather in July, this is the place to be.
Hopefully this photo conveys how cold the water was.
Then we went to Fort Clatsop near Astoria. This is where Lewis and Clark spent the winter before heading back to the eastern US.
Here Ethan is learning more by reading braille.
We enjoyed so much seeing Grandma and Grandpa again and showing them our "country" life in the forest.
