Decked Out Halls

It's been fun decorating for Christmas this year, finding new places for everything in a new house. The kids keep saying it doesn't seem like Christmas without the snow, so I've decked the halls so there's no mistaking it. Here's a little tour:

The foyer is my favorite place to decorate. I love this cupboard my mom gave me. It's easy to switch up the decorations for each season. This year we got this beautiful nativity scene that my parents brought back from Africa. The stockings are hung on the wall because they would get burned on the mantle.
I whipped up this centerpiece yesterday. There are so many evergreens around here it would be a shame not to use them in the house. We even have a holly bush on the property! Ethan was especially impressed by it, he said it was "super Christmasy."

This year I made an advent calendar out of a shoe organizer. You can learn how to make it here. The number cards are 4X6 prints that I created then printed at Costco. The hard part is putting something new in the pockets each day.
I also created this Christmas card holder. Yes, I have been unusually crafty this year. The fresh country air just brings it out in me!
This is our tree. I love the sled over the fireplace that Jason's dad gave us a couple of years ago.

And our new ornaments for this year-Bigfoot Country and Oregon coast crabHappy Holidays!
