Starting Over

Hello everyone! I decided to start a new blog to keep you informed on what we're up to here in the Evergreen State. First of all I have to thank all of the friends and family that showed up to help us move. It was so much work and stress. We couldn't have done it without everyone. After all of the work, money, and stress it was all worth it. We are living in a house we love. We have the best of both worlds-living in the country close to the city.
After getting rid of all the furniture we had to leave behind and cramming everything we could into the moving van, it was finally time to leave. I had lost my drivers' license that weekend, so the day started with a trip to the DMV. I thought we were in real trouble when the computers were down when we got there and they couldn't tell us how long they would be down. Luckily it was only about 20 minutes before the line started moving. Once we got home, we were ready to go. Jason tied the bikes to the top our car. We put a heavy rubber-backed outdoor rug on top of our car to protect it from the bikes. That thing banged against the top the car the entire way to Washington! It sounded like the car was being pelted by hail.

We had to get rid of 3 loveseats, 1 couch, 2 desks, a bookcase and a bunch of other stuff.

Almost ready to go!

Mia was stressed out!

Almost there! Columbia river on the right and Mt. Hood in the distance

At least I didn't have to drive the moving truck! I just had to follow Jason and hope that he didn't veer off the road. The trip seemed to take twice as long as it usually does. On the second day we finally arrived. This was the first time I had even been to Vancouver! I was so excited to finally see the house that Jason had been raving about.
